大家都喜欢小，没人喜欢大。
某两户邻居，因停车问题起了口角，男人称呼女人：“大婶!”女人气愤难平，过了好几个月还耿耿于怀，于是向法院提告。她说她才三十多岁，男人却以“大婶”称呼她，实在太过分了。她认为，大婶指的是没知识的乡下妇女，男人这是“公然侮辱”。
为了一句令人不悦的称谓告上法院，确实有点小题大作。不过，话说回来，女人对于称谓的确很敏感，大家都喜欢小，没人喜欢大。
除非已经老得两鬓斑白，否则没有任何女人喜欢被叫“大婶”、“欧巴桑”，甚至连“大姐”这种称呼，也不是人人可以叫的。另外，台湾女人即使已婚，对于“女士”的称谓也很感冒，感觉这一叫，就被叫老了。
我常逛传统市场，从市场男性商贩对女性的称谓，就大致能够判断这个人到底会不会做生意。会做生意的人，对每个路过的女人皆称“美女”、“小姐”，除非带着小孩，否则也不会称呼人家“太太”。现代社会嘛，可不是每个体态变形的女人，都是人家的太太;不会做生意的人，则动不动就叫人“欧巴桑”。
某次，我还看见一位女性顾客与卖衣服的男人吵了起来，因为男人叫那位看起来不过三十岁多一点的小姐“姨仔”。小姐十分生气：“我看起来有那么老吗?你干嘛这样叫我?”放下衣服，骂了几句就走了。那男人还在后头大喊：“喂喂喂，我还没三十岁，我比你年轻吧 ”
真是活生生的一幕闹剧。“姨仔”未必是“阿姨”的'意思，但多了个“仔”(发音为“氨)，听起来语意轻佻。就算是“姐仔”也不可以乱叫，因为这并非庄重说法。
男人常不懂女人心理。不少男人以为基于“礼貌”，对于职场上碰到的女人，应该一律以“姐”相称才对，我常碰到五、六十岁的男人叫我“淡如姐”，虽然我很明白，这是一种尊敬用语，但心里也会想：“哇，你干嘛装可爱啊?我可担当不起这个 姐 字。”
女人宁可被称为“妹”，也不想当“姐”。
想要当个讨女人喜欢的聪明人并不难，第一步就是：对女人的称谓，宁选小，别选大。有个朋友的小男孩才上小学，一碰到妈妈的朋友，已懂得一律叫“姐姐”了，真是得女人疼，长大之后必是“杀手级”人物。
