First, university is such an ideal place to broaden my horizon and make more friends. The youth of 21stcentury should be open-minded, instead of being a person with a tunnel vision. I’m ready to meet more challenges and make more friends during the four years.

Second, I’m unwilling to step into the society straight after high school. Last week, my parents gave me a surprise. They celebrated my birthday by inviting my friends to join my party. The theme of the party was my favorite movies about superheroes. So my friends played the roles as Spiderman, wonder woman and so on. I dressed as my favorite character, American Captain. We played funny games and had a good time.

It is known to all that smoking does a lot of harm not only to smokers themselves, but also to people around who are actually unconscious victims. According to the statistics obtained, approximately 3 million peopIe die of lung cancer and other fatal diseases every year.

Fortunately, nowadays more and more people have become aware of the harmful effect of smoking.. Tobacco consumption is decreasing. Tobacco production is decreasing (has dropped to 14.2 billion pounds in 1995 as against 14. 364 billion pounds in 1994). The number of smokers is lly, we believe in the advance of society, we believe in a new world without smoking, we believe in people.

Jiaozi is my favourite food. Since childhood I haw learned how to make it. There are five steps.

First you make the dough by mixing water into the flour. The container shculd be big enough lest the flour and water will overflow. Press the dough with your hands till it is not sticky. When the dough is ready, leave it there for use later, then go on to make the fillings.

The second step is to mince the meat, mushrooms and shnmps till they are mixed in a paste. Add some spice such as ginger and onion and stir them evenly.

The third step is to make the wrappings. Roll the dough with a round stick into small round pieces of wrappings, each two inches in diameter.

The fourth step is to put the filling in the middle of a wrapping. Then press the wrapping tight and a jiaozi is ready. When you have made enough Jiaozi, the next step is to boil them.

That is the last step. Put a pot of water on the stove. When the water is boiling, put the Jiaozi one by one into the water and cover the pot. When steam comes out, add more cold water and when it boils again add cold water a second time. When you see the Jiaozi floating in boiling water, you can put them in bowls or plates, get the chopsticks and be ready to eat.
