犹太人自称是上帝眼中的“选民”Jewish people call themselves Chosen People in God’s eye，是上帝从众多民族中优选出来的宠儿Lord’s favorite nation on the earth。至今他们还保留对出生仅八天的男婴施行割礼(包皮环切术)的习俗till now they observe the custom of cutting the surplus prepuce of an infant when it is only eight days old，以此向上帝表示自保清洁以不负上帝厚爱to live up to God’s great favor by keeping their bodies clean。
由于这个不小心的骄傲owing to this careless arrogance，犹太民族命运坎坷the life of Jewry is full of frustrations：公元前《出埃及记》The Exodus中摩西Moses就领着40万在埃及作奴隶的犹太人leading 400,000 Israelites与埃及法老斗智斗勇fought a battle with wits and courage with the King of Egypt，逃离奴隶主的鞭子to escape from being slaved in Egypt奔赴上帝许诺的乐土宝地and run to the Promised Land offered by God，即“流着牛奶和蜂蜜”的迦南(今巴勒斯坦地区)a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey-----Canaan (Palestine)。然而两千多年过去了，自公元前586年犹太国被巴比伦摧毁后犹太人就流离失所they have been forced to leave home and live a vagrant’s life ever since the destruction of their own country in year 586 B.C.。且不谈希特勒Hitler利用世人对犹太人富裕成功的`痴妒而挑起的屠杀leaving alone Hitler’s massacre of Jewish people by provoking other nations’ jealousy to their wealth and success，时至今日巴勒斯坦硝烟依旧war bells still blaze in scarlet battalion in Palestine area。1948年诞生的以色列国仍与环而围之的阿拉伯诸国弩张剑拔Israel and Arabian countries around it have been at daggers drawn ever since 1948。一本难了的血肉债。其实总数达1,500万的犹太人仅有300万住在以色列，大部分仍旅居它乡(仅在美国就有600万)。
这个长期国土无着、人心无着的民族惟有一心向往天国-----他们是虔诚的信徒，潜心追求信仰和真知though without a strong host country to support them, they are faithful followers of Lord and pursue real knowledge and deep insight all their lives：在诺贝尔奖(Noble Prize)得主中有60多位犹太人，以爱因斯坦为巨峰，哥伦布、李嘉图、毕加索、弗洛伊德、海涅、卓别林、基辛格……他们都是人类文明的瑰宝undoubtedly, they are the real treasures of human civilization。
